When the finest, most energetic group of musicians in Chicago formed together to create the The
Katie Sullivan Band, they had no idea that their talent would catapult them into national folk/rock jam band arena! The KSB is one of the most unique, groovin' Americana Jam bands this side of - well, Americana!
The KSB showcases soulful energetic folk/rock tunes, bluesy guitar riffs, and groovin’ versions of
Irish Pub tunes. With 3 albums already under their belt, the KSB recently
released their 4th album project with Grammy-nominated Producer, Michael
Freeman. MELTING POT,
the band's newest CD was released in March 2006.
The Katie Sullivan Band's strong presence on the scene is apparent, as they share stages with
THE JERRY GARCIA BAND AND MELVIN SEALS, Gaelic Storm, Mr. Blotto, and Black 47.
When the KSB was formed, the effect on the Chicago scene was intoxicatingly energetic, to say the least. Katie and the band joined forces with Michael Freeman to create a sound for this jam band who could not
choose between Irish pub music, and psychedelic grooves. The band and the concept grew. Band originators Kent Kaled, and Michael Brown
joined top musicians David Gans, LJ Slavin, Garret Degnan, Anthony Massaro, Steve Haberichter,
and Ruby Harris, to create a musical experience colorful, rootsy, and full
of drive.
Katie and and the boys now play to sold out rooms across the nation. Because the membership of the
